Experience of an educational program in Brazil’s Central-West region: a study for the case of Goiás

Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the effect of the Learning Diagnostic Assessment Program — ADA/Goias on educational performance indicators arranged in a panel of schools from 2009 to 2019. The identification strategy involves the application of different specifications differences in differences model to assess the impact of the program on the learning indicators of elementary and high school students. The results for fundamental indicate that the program reduces the dropout rate and failure rate, and increases performance in Portuguese tests, Mathematics, IDEB and the approval rate . For secondary education, the results indicate that the ADA reduces dropout rates and failure rates and increases the approval rate and performance in Mathematics.
