Abstract

From a study carried out in the joint quarters of a maternity located in the metropolitan area of Curitiba, PR, two results, taken from the dialogue of the interviewed womenmothers, stand out: the fear of having their child stolen was compared to their concern of knowing how to be a mother and breast-feeding was understood as an act that guarantees them their function of exclusivity as an act of desire with their child. And, it is in the psychoanalytical perspective, that this paper finds theoretical devices to discuss these aspects.
