Abstract

This paper focus on the function of the analogous image to the speakers and its relationship with the body. From the teaching of Jacques Lacan's essay about the mirror stage and the psychosis, the imaginary supplying to the symbolic and the consequences of the image failure in compensating the symbolic fault are discussed. The subjective impasses resulting from the fact that identifications fail to agglutinate into a self are discussed around the case of Mlle B., a patient who was interviewed by Lacan during a case presentation. Based on this case, the notion of mentality disease is confronted with the psychosis.
