Abstract

Since Freud we give importance to the distinguishing diagnosis because we know that it serves as a direction for the conduction of the analysis. With Lacan this importance, made explicit by Freud, is ratified. From Lacan everybody speaks in "structuraldistinguishing diagnosis". This text intends to interrogate: what the term "structural" would be adding to the teachings of Freud on the diagnosis and to a certain extent the notion of structure in Lacan would be correlated to the structuralist movement?
