Abstract

This article reports a long-term psychoanalytic psychotherapy with an autistic girl of 8 years. The account of the treatment is divided into four periods: in the first, the treatment aims the resumption of bases of body image; during the following, the construction of a transitional space begins, including the emergency of verbal exchanges. In the third stage we can verify the mirror access for the child and a better communication of her experiences. And in the last period we can verify the consolidation of body image, as much as the play and symbolization development.
