Abstract

Recent changes and discoveries in neurosciences are compared with the conceptual stability of psychoanalysis (whose premises are now a century old) relating to the treatment of babies. The advances in neurosciences are very important regarding diagnosis of organic diseases and may help find drugs for pharmacological treatment, but they offer little in relation as to how the baby should be brought up so that his body with organic deficits may become a human subject responsible for his acts.
