Abstract

This article tries to demonstrate that the Lacanian theory can be conceived as being built around Lacan's contact with the paranoic psychosis. For such, an analysis is made of some of the significant texts from this author's work, since his Doctor's degree thesis in 1932 until the 50s, period during which he developed the scope of his ideas about the Imaginary and the Symbolic.
