Abstract

Starting with the affirmation of heterogeneity in writing, in this study i seek to reflect on how the elements of heterogeneity operate in the definition of what is considered to be new in a text. For that purpose, i return to the discussion of the idea of adaptation, which is
often used in language teaching, in order to create, at the end, a brief parallel between the notions of adaptation and event.
