If Political Geography studies the relationship between space and power, this being the social relationship by definition, then territory, as a field of force and the spatialization of power, is a privileged field for geographical interpretation. This article seeks to investigate the relationship between Gottmann's territorial dilemma and the rise of far-right populist governments in the 2010s. In this sense, we evaluate the author's contributions in light of the recent dynamics of world politics, since changes in the power structure also mean changes in the ways in which space is organized. To this end, we carried out a qualitative review of the literature in order to guide discussions and concepts such as territory, sovereignty, the production of security, and threats. Thus, it is with the rise of far-right populist governments that we see the continuing dilemma of the forces of movement and systems of resistance to the movement by these groups in an attempt to regain political sovereignty over the territory.
