The natural disasters associated to the climatic dynamics are phenomena that constitute own Ceará’s history, since the hydrous shortages and overages initiated crisis situations, especially in the most vulnerable spaces. Thus, this investigation sought to determine the risk level of the natural disasters among the cities from Ceará. We collected records related to the disaster that were a result of droughts e floods between the years of 2003 to 2012, as well as the census data the express the vulnerability of the cities. It was also created a methodological proposition to do the evaluation of the natural risks from the integration of variables that indicate the vulnerability and the existent dangers in the field of study, followed by the building of a risk index, named IRDEN. The results were spatialized through a Geographic Information System. The methodology showed up to be efficient to represent the truth observed in field because it has easy applicability in other geographic contexts.
