This paper presents a map reconstruction of the Gay Happiness Index (2015) from a methodology based on discussions made by Jacques Bertin, Colette Cauvin, Henri Reymond, Aziz Serradj e Eduardo Dutenkefer on the cartographic language. Starting from the idea that the same data can create images with different meanings, we conducted an analysis of the data gathered from both the Gay Happiness Index, developed in 2015 by researchers at the Johannes Gutenberg University and the company responsible for the gay dating app Planet Romeo available for smartphones. This work presents some discretization methods of the data and the resulting maps. We take into account the visual communication for colorblind, considering the importance of accessibility for the greatest number of users. Finally, we make an analysis of maps and choose the most communicative of them.
