The Atlas of Violence 2017, published by the Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea), analyzes the homicides in Brazil from 2005 to 2015, the sources used being mainly data from the Mortality Information System (SIM) of the Ministry of Health. The Atlascompiles and comments a lot of statistical information, but offers few maps. As it is available online (free) in PDF format, it was possible to extract the data and map them more completely.
