Commentary on four maps of violence motivated by discrimination against because of gender identity or sexual orientation in the municipality of São Paulo, Brasil

This article is a commentary on four maps created during the investigation process of a research conducted for a master’s degree on the cartography of violence motivated by discrimination against because of gender identity or sexual orientation in the municipality of São Paulo, Brazil. Data from police reports from 2008 to 2017 was used. A discussion on the methodological process of making maps in euclidean and geometric equal-area (hexagons) base maps, and the creation of cartograms from them is presented.
