Henri Lefebvre: Totality, radicality and spatial dialect

The article deals with the notion of totality based on Henri Lefebvre's thought and seeks possible articulations of this notion with the geographical analysis of the production of urban space. This reflection involved the hypothesis that urban space and urban society carry the theoretical and practical possibility of realizing a human totality, which challenges us to understand philosophical, analytical and spatial aspects of the construction of open, moving and dialectical notion of totality. As a development and as a result of the discussion, we point out that totality, from the Lefebvrian perspective, can be thought of in terms of the totality-negativity-radicality triad, and that this triad, in turn, can compose the construction of new horizons for urban life.
