In 1976 the geographer Donald Meinig published a collection of texts in which the landscape was interpreted. He himself has what it sees as the ideal types - in the Weberian sense - of American landscapes. These landscapes condense the experience and the worldview of Americans, often being played in movies, posters and leaflets. The three landscapes discussed by Meinig suggest many questions but also leads to questions about ideal types of Brazilian landscapes. Nostalgia and residential segregation are themes that appear from the text Meinig. With regard to Brazil the screen in field of investigation is open. That ideal types of Brazilian landscapes can be designed, constructed intellectually by geographers with general representations of Brazilian landscapes? This short essay aims to contribute in this direction.Downloads
