This work investigates spatial strategies that, associated with the food system, allow understanding the synergy of elements and activities related to the production, processing, distribution, preparation, and consumption of food, considering the urban space, processes, institutions, people, inputs, and infrastructures. For this, we resorted to the case study method, in which we took as reference the choice of a unit for observation and analysis, in this case, the Santa Tereza neighborhood, in Belo Horizonte/MG, discussing the data used, as well as their operationalization. Therefore, the results and discussion are presented, based on the models generated, implemented here with support from the configurational theories of space syntax and urban network analysis, concluding on the efficiency of the tools to dimension and evaluate the scope of the studied problem.
