Author Biography

  • Alice Villela, Universidade de São Paulo

    ALICE VILLELA is a post-doctoral researcher at the Universidade de São Paulo (USP). She has a PhD in Social Anthropology at USP, Master of Arts and Bachelor of Social Sciences at the Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp). She conducts researches on the relationship between audiovisual and music making at the Fapesp Thematic Project (16/05318-7): "Local Musicking: new paths for ethnomusicology" (Unicamp/USP). Between 2005 and 2015, she developed a research about performance in indigenous ritual, notions of image, photography, audiovisual and image production among the Asuriní of Xingu (PA). At USP, she is part of NAPEDRA - Anthropology, Performance and Drama Research Center, GRAVI - Visual Anthropology Group and PAM - Researches on Musical Anthropology. E-mail: licevillela@gmail.com
