Use of Web-Based simulation technology as a teaching tool in animal science

Abstract

This article explores the potential of the Web-Based simulation tool, Insight Maker®, in the instruction and application of animal science. The work illustrates how Insight Maker® effectively and accurately simulates the basic and correlated processes in animal science, serving as a versatile educational strategy for students and professionals in the field. The practical application of the tool was demonstrated through an example in sheep farming, where the simulation revealed the importance of reproductive management and its direct implications on flock populations, offering valuable insights for making efficient and sustainable decisions in the field of zootechnics. This example validated the use of Insight Maker® as a valuable educational resource, providing a deep understanding of theoretical concepts and promoting the development of analytical and critical skills, essential in solving real problems in animal production. The conclusion highlights the efficacy of Insight Maker® in implementing Web-Based concepts in animal science, emphasizing its relevance as an innovative pedagogical strategy in zootechnics training, allowing the exploration and assimilation of complex concepts in an integrated and intuitive way, and instigating continuous learning and improvement in this field of science.
