Author Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to the Editorial Board must strictly adhere to the criteria below. Non-compliant contributions will be REJECTED.

  1. All texts submitted as contributions to InCID: Revista de Ciência da Informação e Documentação must be sent electronically through the submission system on this platform. [Submission Tutorial link].

  2. Contributions must be attached as electronic files in Word format (.doc file extension) and MUST NOT CONTAIN IDENTIFICATION of their authors.

  3. We request attention to filling out all submission metadata fields. Submissions with incomplete metadata will be archived.

  4. The journal, following CAPES regulations regarding the qualification of scientific journals, accepts article submissions that have at least one author with a doctoral degree.

  5. Contributions are accepted in Portuguese or Spanish.

  6. Articles must have a minimum of 12 and a maximum of 20 pages, with 1.5 line spacing, Times New Roman font size 12, top and left margins of 3 cm, and bottom and right margins of 2 cm.The article title must be in Verdana font, size 14, bold, centered, utilizing standard capitalization (not all caps). Below, insert the title in English, in Times New Roman, size 12, italics, centered. Pages MUST NOT be numbered. [Template for article submission link].

  7. Articles must include informative abstracts (presenting objectives, methodology, results, and conclusions; do not use acronyms or citations in the abstract) in Portuguese and English (in that order) of at most 250 words each, followed by three to five keywords in those same languages. Use Times New Roman, size 10, single spacing.

  8. Titles and subtitles should use standard capitalization and progressive numbering. Foreign words not absorbed into the Portuguese language must be in italics.

  9. Citations in the body text must be in quotation marks, followed by the author's surname, publication year, and pages of the cited text, placed in parentheses. If the author is part of the sentence, place only the year and page in parentheses. If there is no direct citation, but only a reference to the author, indicate the surname and, in parentheses, the year of publication.

  10. Citations with more than three lines must be separated into their own paragraph, with a 4 cm left indentation, font size 10, and single line spacing.

  11. Explanatory notes should appear as footnotes. Numbering of notes is recommended.

  12. Capital letters: Use at the start of sentences, for proper names, fields of knowledge, acronyms, symbols, or abbreviations.

  13. For other matters, please refer to ABNT standards NBR 6022, 6023, 6028, and 10520.

  14. Images or illustrations must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi to ensure print reproduction quality.

  15. Tables, images, and graphs must be inserted within the text.

  16. Reviews follow the same standards as articles and must be limited to three pages. Books subject to review must be current, published within the last two years.

  17. Signed articles are the sole responsibility of the authors, as well as matters regarding the use of images.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

    • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

    • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.

    • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

    • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

    • The text is 1.5-spaced; uses a 12-point Times New Roman font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

    • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section (e.g., Articles), the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
