The informational practices of the subjects and their interrelationship with the information mediation activities in the environment of the Casa de José Américo Foundation Archive

This study sought to identify the level of interference between the subjects' informational practices and the information mediation activities within the Casa de José Américo Foundation Archive, considering the context and sociocultural dynamics of the individuals. Regarding the methodology, this article is characterized as descriptive of a qualitative nature, adopting direct observation and questionnaire application as data collection techniques among informational subjects who use the services and products of the aforementioned Archive. From the investigative trajectory, the relevance of considering the specific demands of informational subjects in the elaboration of direct and indirect information mediation activities was proven, enabling the search for it to be successful and, enhancing a link with the Archive, so that this environment can be recognized as a space of belonging. It was also noted the need for conscious action on the part of archivists, in the development of mediating activities, in a way that seeks to meet the informational demands of the subjects, considering the singularities, dynamics and sociocultural context in which they are inserted.
