This article aims to demonstrate that vulnerable territories are legitimate spaces for the production and construction of knowledge, highlighting the central role of media and religion in this process. The research was based on a literature review in the fields of communication, media, political geography, and political and religious philosophy, as well as an analysis of knowledge production. The study investigated the dynamics experienced by marginalized populations and the use of communication media and religious practices as instruments to re-signify and confront social exclusion. The results indicate that, by taking refuge in faith and appropriating media resources, the subjects of these territories construct their own narratives, challenging the dominant view that classifies them as incapable of generating knowledge. It was found that knowledge emerges from a diversity of perspectives, with no single field holding absolute truths. In conclusion, media and religious practices function as essential mediators in the production of knowledge and the promotion of social recognition, contributing to the transformation of vulnerable territories and broadening the debate on inclusion and social justice.
