Under this heading are addressed, historically, some concepts, ideas, actions and techniques that influenced our current knowledge of the brain, in order to identify those who might cover the issues: Heart vs Brain; Brain vs. Mind and Brain: monism and dualism, among others. In revisiting the history of science, we look for understand the importance attributed to the head, heart and brain as to its relevance to sustain life, thinking, feeling , acting and reacting. Which are the meaning of the holes found in the skull of hominid fossils? How the ancient civilizations of the old and new world conceived reason and emotions? Would the Middle Ages have affected the development of science in the East as it did in the West? In this trajectory, also we tryto identify how some concepts of brain functions evolved. Which one resisted the time? There were also included some characters, concepts and technologies relevant to the current understanding of the brain and the nervous system. The text yet aims to represent a comprehensive approach directed primarily to those who want to be introduced to the subject, it also puts questions without the intention to cover the whole subject, but rather to identify and encourage research in this exciting journeyDownloads
