Abstract

The aim of this paper is to examine the construction of the concept of consciousness in the work of Jean-Paul Sartre (1905-1980). We leave the definition of phenomenological consciousness inaugurated by Edmund G. A. Husserl (1859-1938), as well as the definition of thoughtless awareness and reflective consciousness proposed by Sartre, in order to demonstrate the path taken bythe french philosopher in the constitution of the concept of consciousness showing no need for an I in the structure of activity Awareness of the second degree. We include in our analysis to characterize dubitative of states, actions and qualities, and consequently the dubitative transcendental ego and a new reframing to the Cartesian cogito
