Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze the representations of social practices in fictional television series whose theme is the possibility of the extinction of humanity, portrayed in an extreme situation of disorder and chaos. Produced by The Walking Dead, Z Nation, Falling Skies, The 100, Terra Nova. From the description of how relationships and power building are established in dystopian scenarios, it can be seen that consumption and domination trends in fiction reproduce Manichaean models to identify who controls and who obeys, with strong reference to real situations.
