Abstract

The work analyzes and argues from the Nicomachean Ethics and Aristotle's Politics, the relation between contemplative life and the political life, studying the points of meeting and tension between both. The politics is the sovereign science among practical sciencies. Taking into account this conception, it will be studied the relation that it has with the theoretical life. If the purpose of contemplation is to reach the real happiness according to the author of Stageira, which is the statute of political life in relation to the mentioned purpose? Which is the importance that the author assigns to politics in relation to the real happiness that philosophical life promises?
