Abstract

The paper examines some characteristics that assumed the construction of the menemist hegemony in Argentina, focusing on political discourse analysis of Carlos Menem during his first term. On a basis of social semiotic perspective, place the shaft in the production phase of hegemony, analyzing the enunciative strategies and devices that build the menemist discourse to legitimize politically in relation to the sectors from peronist tradition.
