Abstract

The fundamental proposal of this paper is to reflect on the concept of public sphere, which have different implications and connotations for contemporary political theory, from an author unexplored in this topic: Theodor Adorno. For that purpose I introduce the discussion of the concept of public sphere wrought by Habermas, presenting the main thesis that established its critical function and its ability to articulate emancipatory projects in capitalist societies. I pretend later to develop a different perspective on this issue from the adornian reflection off what we have decided to call the fetishism of the public sphere. The development of this critical reflection is the main propose of our work
