The dramatic monologue in Percy B. Shelley: Prometheus between tyranny and freedom

Starting from the concepts of dramatic monologue, lyrical addressing and fictionalization of the poetic voice, this article will present Prometheus Unchained (1820) by Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) in the sense of discovering the fundamental determinations of the reordering of the classic myth of Prometheus, which is worked out in the context of the modernity of the social relations of production of capitalism. In the very concreteness of the text, the opposition between Prometheus and Jupiter takes on greater proportions throughout the monologue. This leads the listener and the reader to sympathize with the speaker and the positions he takes.
