This essay aims to analyze, from the collective catastrophes referring to Nakba and Shoá, how the memories and identities of Palestine and Israel, even if they tried and still try to constitute themselves as opposites, inexorably intertwine and end up constituting a reciprocal influence. These countries, which have inseparable and overlapping histories, carry with them a very recent past, whether due to recurring events or dissident memories that do not gain space in what tries to constitute itself as “collective memory”. It is then analyzed how this dispute, which does not occur only at the territorial level, takes place in the fields of memory.
