This paper aims to reflect about narratives and representations of Palestinians in comic books. I sustain that sequential art may serve as historical source and as a way to put into question orientalist standpoints. As an example, I present a counter-hegemonic graphical project (Joe Sacco’s Palestine) in opposition to common eurocentric images in traditional comics (as in Herge’s Tintim), suggesting that figurative narrative is a powerful political tool, as long as it contributes to social values generational transmission.Downloads
