The Contribution of Ivo Castro to the Critical-Genetical Edition in Portugal

This article aims to present and discuss the origin of the critical-genetic editing model adopted in Portugal and explain how it combines the presentation of a static critical text that is guided by the fixation of the author's last documented will with the representation of the creative process that it contains. With this in mind, we will focus our study on the contributions of Ivo Castro, coordinator of the teams responsible for the critical and genetic edition of the works of Fernando Pessoa and Camilo Castelo Branco, reflecting on the criteria applied for the fixation of the texts and on the theoretical framework that surrounds them.
