Abstract

This article aims to show how the city of Belo Horizonte, capital of Minas Gerais, since its inauguration and especially with the first decades of the twentieth century, was closely linked to poetry as a production space and as a poetic theme. From Carlos Drummond de Andrade and the modernists of The Magazine, of 1925, the city takes place in the Brazilian literary scene and becomes an important benchmark in the literary and intellectual production of the country.
