Initial reflections on the creative paratopia in “O Grifo de Abdera” by Lourenço Mutarelli

Abstract

In this article, we propose what we call initial reflections about the book of Lourenço Mutarelli. We make a brief analysis of “O Grifo de Abdera” (Companhia das Letras, 2015), based on the concept of creative paratopia developed by Dominique Maingueneau (2006) for the study of literary discourse within the French domain of discourse analysis. In analyzing the three main characters in this book of Brazilian fiction, we outline the three instances of authorship (writer, inscriber, and person), considered as constituents of creative action in each of these characters. At the end of the analysis, we can verify the possibility of really understanding these characters as authors in different stages.
