Abstract

This article describes an individual Lucio Cardoso reader's personal experience. It intends to show (or perhaps witness) the deep differences between the reception this work had back in the 1980s and nowadays. It intends to show (or perhaps witness) the deep differences between the reception this work had back in the 1980s and nowadays. Moreover, the article tries to build a brief general interpretation in which Cardoso's most famous novel, Chronicle of the Murdered House, is not seen as an exception, but as a work deeply connected to all his other literary experiences.
