Political communication and social movements in Spain: from15M to Podemos

The role of political communication in the development of public opinion has been exposed by numerous researchers. In the context of political communication, there are three entities involved: political power, media, and society. This paper analyzes political communication cases in Spain: on the one hand, the relation between the 15M movement and the “ Podemos ”, as well as its presence and activity in the Twitter social network; on the other hand, to study how the principal candidates for Mayor of Madrid have managed their personal accounts in Twitter, in the municipal elections of 2015.
