The paper is a meditation about open spaces in relation to the figure and the arrangement in the urban space; the focus is on their wholeness condition for the conviviality. As basic aspects of the human life, since the first groups of early history, we selected the co-operation, the mutual help and the mobility. The relation with the environment is put in relevance bearing in mind the human and environmental changes in the context of culture as a dynamic phenomenon. In the interaction of time and space are privileged the sociability conditions; also, liberties and rights, connected with the territories. The interdependency and complementary relations in wide varieties of habitats are emphasized as quality expressions of cultural, social and ecological spaces. The fact that we selected some examples for reference and reflection on open spaces in towns, in network cities, and in urbanized regions can't be seen as proposal for patterns. To understand the Brazilian landscape and to suggest another approach to new readings of the European inheritance, studies on the Brazilian people as melting pot of the different ethnic groups and their various and diversified socio-cultural development are essential. KEY-WORDS: sociability, diversity, peculiarity, interaction, complementary relation, focus.Downloads
