Abstract

Two species of Lasiopteridi are described: Alycaulus maricaensis, sp. nov. and Rhopalomyia braziliensis, sp. nov. Both species are gall-inducers, the former on Mikania hoehnei B.L. Rob. (Asteraceae), endemic to Brazil, and the latter on Psychotria carthagenensis Jacq. (Rubiaceae), native. They are compared with the other congeneric species. Illustrations of the most important morphological characters are provided. Types are deposited in the Entomological Collection of the Museu Nacional/Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro.
