This ethnographic essay intends to analyse the conection between the built environment and social dynamics at Bixiga neighbourhood, in São Paulo. Moved by “Cortejo Viva Bixiga”, event promoted by Sesc 14 Bis, two incursions were made following the parade’s route: one on the day of the event and another on the following weekend. Using excerts from the reports written by the two authors, the text intents to reconstruct the path, pointing out the characteristics of land use and ocupation, as well as the diferent social dynamics and spacial organization seen, in order to produce an analysis that relates these elements at different times.
