Analysis of the integrity of concrete facades apparent to modern heritage

Reinforced concrete structures in modern architecture have presented issues that directly impact their integrity, affecting the physical consistency and maintenance of the original characteristics of the material. The occurrence of pathological manifestations on exposed concrete and intervention actions in the structure can affect the integrity and visual perception of the property as a unit, generating fragmentations in the visual reading of the work. Despite the importance of the concept of integrity in the heritage conservation process, there is still no clear consensus regarding the exact meaning of its application and the establishment of specific parameters. This work aims to present the concept of integrity and its application in heritage conservation, proposing the analysis of the integrity of exposed concrete facades based on the attributes of modern heritage. It is concluded that each case and intervention action impacts attributes directly linked to integrity, and this analysis is important for making conservation decisions regarding exposed concrete works of modern heritage.
