Utzon, Korsmo e o grupo Pagon: entre o vernáculo e a mecânica do lar

This article aims to delineate the theoretical and practical precepts of the Progressive Arkitekters Gruppe Oslo Norge PAGON group based on an analysis of its formation in the early 1950s and its relationship with the Congrès Internationaux d’Architecture Moderne (CIAM), as well as to identify how these principles were employed in specific ways in projects designed by some of its members: the Danish architect Jørn Utzon and the Norwegian architects Arne Korsmo and Christian Norberg-Schulz. Informed by strategies originating from the modern movement, yet, operating in conjunction with architectural references outside the Western canon and with growth patterns found in nature, the architecture of the PAGON group presents itself simultaneously as a critique of and an extension to the principles established by CIAM. Considering these circumstances, the unique position of the PAGON group and its architects in the early post-war context becomes evident, particularly in their anticipation of the so-called
neo-avant-garde and the later dissent within CIAM stemming from Team X.
