The article discusses how contemporary territories – traversed by railways, motorways, and cars – are portrayed in literature, music, and cinema. This study approaches this as a backdrop to the United States of America, the epitome of a society on wheels. For this purpose, we summoned many representations of landscape from the diverse fields of art, produced by artists who represent references in modern America, such as Jack Kerouac, Tom Waits, David Byrne, and David Lynch, in the fields of literature, music, and cinema.Downloads
