Abstract

It criticises the “projective” designation, which refers itself to implicit phenomena on TAT material. It was intended to show that the “projective” led, in historical means, the test to be tied up to psychoanalytic theories, though nothing on those phenomena obliged this interpretation to be made. On the contrary, the largest part from the problematical of its research using and from the possibility of a general consensus, concerning its interpretation, are due to inherent problems of psychoanalysis theories themselves. We suggest, then, its disconnection from this term, which prevents a real remark of the material obtained by the test. The phenomena observation would allow the impasses overcoming and, consequently, the enlargement of its use, since consensus would be searched in the material, beyond any previous theoretical posture from the observer.
