This review analyzes the work "What is dwelling? Psychoanalytic clinic and artistic creation" by Frédéric Vinot, the first Brazilian translation of one of the main contemporary theorists of the spatial dimension of the unconscious. The book proposes a "Copernican revolution" in the psychoanalytic understanding of space: it is not the subject who dwells in space, but space that dwells in the subject. Vinot develops the concept of "linguistic habitation" by articulating Lacanian theory, urban studies, and literary criticism across five parts that range from metapsychological foundations to the proposition of psychoanalysis as ecology. The review examines the author's original contributions, his Eurocentric limitations, and the possibilities for dialogue with the Brazilian context, especially through articulation with Milton Santos' critical geography. It proposes the development of a "psychoanalytic geography" that simultaneously considers socioeconomic and unconscious determinations in the production of Brazilian urban space, offering theoretical tools to understand issues such as gentrification, urban segregation, and spatial resistance practices.
