The objective of this paper is to present, based on the reading of essays on psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud, an understanding of the psychic processes of the subject in a situation of violence. We believe that the drive is the condition for the establishment of the link between subject and culture. When a situation of violence presents itself to the subject, it breaks with this condition, annulling the subject's possibility of representing himself in a time and space. As a way to re-establish the subject in the drive circuit that places him in a relation with the other, the transmission of this experience of violence presents itself as a duty. This transmission, however, does not occur without the inscription of loss.Downloads
