Abstract

Starting from the acknowledgment that the public psychiatric assistance has its institucional legitimacy based on theoretical model of an organicistic type, the authors investigate the ideological penetration of this model among the patients. Analysing individual interviews of sixty interned women, they conclude that psychosocial explanations are predominant among the individuals.
