Abstract

We presented a review of papers on invertion of visual perceived depth mainly related to the hollow face illusion. We emphasized the supremacy of the top-down processes over the bottom-up processes on the perception of the depth inversion in hollow faces, the factors and condition that modulated it, and its possible applications to investigate behavioral, psychopathogical and psychopharmacological conditons.
