Abstract

The present article discusses constructional behavior therapy, as developed by Beata Bakker-de Pree in the Netherlands. Its general philosophy of treatment is compatible with several of the wider known behavior therapies. But its original contribution consists in the explicit description of a number of important ingredients in clinical work that are not emphasized in the other behavioral models. These are the technique of free differentiation and the functional analysis of the client's healthy behavior.
