Abstract

This study aims at to present the formulation and implantation background of a discipline offered by the Postgraduate program in Education (PPGE) at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) since 2009, entitled The Production of School Failure in Maria Helena Souza Pattos Work. The study aims to report the the contributions of this discipline and the authors work in training teachers and researchers who have as their object of study, school failure in public schools and Espirito Santo in Brazil. For this purpose, we present the context of PPGE, setting the course offered and how that work was being unveiled for the group of students (masters and doctorates), as well as the ramifications of the discipline in PPGE.
