Autism is a disorder whose hallmark is the lack of interaction and communication with the other. In the late 70s and early 80s, effervescence began by studies that considered deficits in the area of social relationships as primary to the emergence of the syndrome. From previous research on the relationship between early imitation and early establishment of social relations, some researchers have begun to assume that imitation deficits presented by the autistics could be related to deficits in social interactions that these individuals have. The present study proposes to review international literature on the major research that worked to verify the presence of an imitation deficit in autism and its possible role as well as the evolution of these surveys in order to verify the hypothesis that this imitative deficit be decisive in the nuclear appearance in regard specifically to the presence of autistic disorder.Downloads
