Abstract

Due to its privileged position in the apparatus of sexuality, psychoanalysis is part of a profuse network of disciplinary and normalizing technologies engaged in the de-politicization display of bio-politics. However, we propose an interpretation of the polemic Freudian concept of the death drive from the perspective of the immune paradigm put forth by Roberto Esposito. The death drive informs the aphoristic nature of immunity, in so far that it allows for an opening-up to the productivity of the negative and the inclusion of otherness within the composition of self.
